2025 in Review
The CIHA team had a busy year. We continue to engage in research, teaching and mentorship within critical and timely conversations on the inequitable associations of humanitarianism with religion, colonialism, slavery, neo-colonial exploitation, and neo-liberal forms of paternalism. We look forward to continuing these conversations with all of you in 2026, amid unprecedeted shifts in the humanitarian landscape.
L’équipe du CIHA a connu une année bien remplie. Nous poursuivons nos activités de recherche, d’enseignement et de mentorat en participant à des discussions essentielles et d’actualité sur les liens inéquitables entre l’humanitarisme et la religion, le colonialisme, l’esclavage, l’exploitation néocoloniale et les formes néolibérales de paternalisme. Nous sommes impatients de poursuivre ces conversations avec vous tous en 2026, dans un contexte de bouleversements sans précédent dans le paysage humanitaire.

– Be on the look out for a research call. CIHA will be asking our contributors to share their experiences amid cuts to humanitarian aid and on-going decolonization efforts
2025 was an unprecedented year for the humanitarian sector. In 2026, we will re-imagine what humanitarianism can look like, who it centers, and the kind of world it can foster. We look forward to thinking about these futures with each of you.
