The African Studies Association of Africa (ASAA) is pleased to invite universities, research institutions, think tanks, academies, and other scholarly organisations across Africa to express their interest in hosting the 7th ASAA Biennial Conference, to be held in October 2027.
The ASAA Biennial Conference is an important space for bringing together scholars, researchers, students, policymakers, artists, development practitioners, civil society actors, and members of the African diaspora to exchange ideas, share research, and engage in meaningful conversations about Africa and its place in the world.
The 2027 conference is expected to welcome approximately 500–800 participants from across Africa and around the world. The conference will be held primarily in person, with opportunities for hybrid participation where feasible.
We welcome institutions interested in partnering with ASAA to host this important gathering and contribute to a stimulating and memorable conference experience for our members and participants.
